When two women with different backgrounds, one a formerly incarcerated woman arrested 83 times with 66 convictions and the other a state judge, team up to determine the best outcome for women charged with felonies.
Journey Court TV is a program about women charged with felonies who are in a drug court that is trauma-informed and trauma-responsive. Journey Court aims to target litigants who have an identified substance use disorder and may have experienced trauma, finding it hard to stay clean and out of jail. Michigan State Court Judge Michelle Rick teams up with Tonier Cain, a world-renowned trauma survivor and trauma expert. Together, they are determined to find new interventions for the women assigned to Judge Rick.
